Surf at Bogue Pier ranged from Low of 77° to a high of 84° with an average of 80.5° (blue diamonds). Bogue Sound had a low of 75° a high of 87° with an average of 80.9° (red squares). August temperatures were nearly flat with a slight upward trend mid month falling off the last part of the month, with most of the month running near or below normal. Average surf for month of August is around 82°. We also had our first mullet below right on schedule on August 27, with surf at 70°, sound 77°. Average date is August 29 since 1999. The bait along the beach has perked up the fishing.
