Emerald Isle Water Temps for December 2023
Like October and November, December is a usually a month of falling temperatures (-6°), however although a bit of rollercoastering, the plot was flat, i.e. horizontal slope of essentially zero. And as has been the case all year, above normal for the month. Surf ranged from a high of 64° to a low of 53° (11° range) and averaging 57.7° +/- 3.1° (normal is 55°), interestingly starting and finishing at 59°. Bogue sound ranged from 62° to 47° (15° range) averaging 54.0° +/-4.4°. Surf temps are blue diamonds (slope of near zero°/day), sound red squares.
