Emerald Isle Water Temperatures for May2021
Surf and sound temps for May again were on a roller coaster with wide and wild fluctuations especially early in the month, followed by steady increases later in the month followed by a serious cold snap and drop in temps. Surf had a 11-degree range whereas the sound was over 20-degrees. Surf at Bogue Pier had a Low of 66°, high of 77° (11° difference) with an average of 70.4° +/- 3.0°. The surf curve was positive with a slope of +0.26°. Bogue Sound had a low of 60° and a high of 82° (22° difference) and an average also over 70° at 72.1° +/-5.3.
